49” x 61.5”

Made out of thousands of tiny, hand-cut pieces of new fabric, the Mulholland Drive quilt wall hanging was assembled and stitched together in the Textilepop studio in Los Angeles County, California. The original art quilt was inspired by and abstracted from a photograph taken at dusk from one of the popular scenic overlooks that faces the San Fernando Valley below (see original source image at bottom left). Each of the brilliant colors in the Mulholland Drive quilt was carefully chosen to reference the evening color palette of the dark blues and vivid lights in the original photograph.

Mulholland Drive is one of the most well-known scenic thoroughfares in the United States. Opened in 1924, the winding highway stretches high above the Hollywood Hills and over towards the Pacific Ocean.

The original art quilt is with all new cotton materials. The bias tape was hand cut in the Textilepop studio from the same fabric and specifically matched to the color characteristics of this quilt. The art quilt features a twill tape sleeve on the back for hanging and display.

Artist designed and made in Los Angeles County, California.
